As the New Year tumbles in, so do we! Yet again the Centriblast-Pangborn team have provided another problem solving solution for a UK manufacturer of castings, based in Devon.
Our solution focussed, expert engineers have recently installed another 6GN Tumble Blast Machine, this is the 3rd installation of this type of Automatic Shot Blast Machine of this type in recent weeks!
2023 looks to be as busy as 2022, many manufacturers have chosen to either expand their own finishing and blasting facilities or establish them.
6GN Tumble Blast Machine – Installation
The Pangborn-Centriblast Rotoblast® GN Barrel Blast Machines provide a cost-effective solution for batch cleaning, deburring, descaling, decoring, deflashing and peening a wide variety of products. They are designed and built as fully integrated blast cleaning systems, eliminating the need for separate dust collection systems.
Technical Specification
6GN Tumble Blast Machine;
- A ruggedly built unitized blast cabinet fabricated of 6mm mild steel plate.
- Drum size is 740mm diameter x 940mm wide, 170 litre capacity
- Maximum Load 436kg
- Maximum weight per piece 34kg
- Work conveyor constructed of multi-ply abrasive-resistant rubber, with drain holes, driven by a 0.75kw motor.
- Solid, one-piece metal load door, air operated lift.
- The drum ends are protected with 12mm thick cast wear resist liners and the work door is protected with 6mm rubber.
- Electrical and operator’s control panel combined in a Rittal enclosure
Pangborn Integrated Abrasive Handling and Reclamation System with:
- An integral gravity hopper positioned below the blast chamber.
- A removable screen in the bottom of the cabinet to separate coarse refuse before the abrasive enters the elevator boot.
- A belt bucket elevator driven by a 0.75kw flange motor.
- A high-efficiency Pangborn air-wash separator
Dust Collector
- An integral cartridge type dust collector will be mounted on the back of the Rotoblast machine for ventilation of approximately 1,700MCH
- Unit is complete with 2.2KW exhauster drive and outlet damper
- Explosion Relief Panel
